AIDS nonprofit awards $73,000 in grants

Ventura County AIDS Partnership has awarded $73,000 to four organizations. Of this amount, $35,000 is allocated for AIDS care services, and the remaining $38,000 is for HIV prevention.

"In a time of tight funding and fiscal restraint, VCAP has been able in the past 10 years to contribute over $1 million locally for AIDS education and prevention activities as well as provide support for needed emergency assistance, mental health services and a food pantry for people living with HIV or AIDS," said Erin Quinn, VCAP Allocations Committee chair and associate dean at the USC School of Medicine.
