Local con man pleads not guilty to grand theft, forgery charges
Police say scam cost hotels thousands of dollars
      Sean Douglas Thornhill of Camarillo pleaded not guilty to multiple counts of grand theft, forgery and drug charges on Wednesday. Police said Thornhill, 47, carried out an elaborate scheme that cost at least two local hotels thousands of dollars in unpaid room charges.

Volunteer at Maritime Museum
      The Ventura County Maritime Museum needs volunteers to conduct guided tours, staff the reception desk, do research or give office assistance. A 12-week docent training class will run from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Mondays Feb. 5 through April 23 at the museum, 2731 S. Victoria Ave., Oxnard.
