Young hoopsters get offensive in Week 3 of CYBA season
Local teams put up big-time points during Saturday's action

The action was fast and furious during Week 3 of the Camarillo Youth Basketball Association season.
In Boys 5 action, the Bruins beat the Hoosiers 41-33.
The Hoosiers' Evan Quayle led the way with 12 points, seven rebounds and three assists. Fellow Hoosier Nick Fassel added 10 points and nine rebounds. Jacob Tottan and Liam Cochrane both were rebounding machines, with 12 and 10, respectively.
In Boys 6 action, the Yellowjackets got by the Wildcats 20-19.
After a scoreless first quarter, the Wildcats jumped to an early lead in the second. Yellowjacket Easton Banyai-Becker scored twice in rapid succession to put his team out front and change the momentum of the game.
Yellowjackets Nico and Paul led the defense with eight rebounds each.
The Wildcats launched a late drive that brought them within one point before falling just short.

In Boys 7 play, the Cardinals upended the Longhorns 33-30.
Longhorn Troy Benson played a great offensive game, with Max Muscarella providing strong defensive support.
Moving on to Boys 8, the Trojans defeated the Yellowjackets 50-37 in a close and exciting game from start to finish.
Jordan Dye led the Trojans with 22 points. Ted Lee added 10 points. Trojans Patrick Ramirez and Evan Van Blargen anchored a solid frontcourt. Ryan Burr's drives to the basket allowed Taylor White and Michael Martinez great looks at the hoop.
In the Senior Girls Division, the Lady Vols just got past the Tar Heels, 33-32.
For the Tar Heels, Kimberly Flores, Samantha McCarthy and Alison Stymacher all put up a huge effort on offense. In addition, Kelsey Trestor had five rebounds, while Evelyn Galvan and Hanna Michalak led on defense.
Madison O'Donnell led the Lady Vols' offense with 11 points, while Katrina Geluz and Erin Peterson each put up eight points.
In other Senior Girls action, the Trojans beat the Buckeyes 26-23.
Monica Ramos led the Trojan offense with 16 points. Alexis Neuman and Miranda Medina played very well on defense.
Tristin Richey-Herrera and Haley Binnette led the Buckeye offense with eight and six points, respectively. Brittany Nielsen and Tatum Koval put up a strong defense effort for the Buckeyes.
Lastly, the Tigers downed the Bruins 20-15.
Samantha Meyer and Jaqueline Newberry each scored eight points for the Tigers, while Salina Perez and Rae Ann Cantrell played solid defense.
Bruin Haylee Harrison had a great game with 11 points, while Darian Roy and Cheyenne Pena applied the defensive pressure.
