Make wishes happen

The MakeAWish Foundation of the TriCounties, an organization that grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions, is celebrating.

"Nearly 800 heartfelt wishes (have been) granted to children in Ventura, Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties," said Johanna Burlingham, development and marketing manager.

She suggested ways to help the foundation and the children it serves, by transferring airline miles or donating cars, securities or cash and having it matched by an employer or club, volunteering or organizing fundraisers and collecting items for the Kids for Wish Kids project, which documents children's memories of their fulfilled wish.
