Camarillo seeks board members, volunteers

There are openings for volunteers to represent the city of Camarillo on various commissions, boards and committees. The deadline to submit applications is 5 p.m. Fri., Feb. 2.

The Rent Review Commission is responsible for assisting in the settlement of rent disputes. The commission meets annually and on an asneeded basis, generally during afternoon working hours.

Vacant or soon-to-be vacant positions are multifamily member/ tenant, mobile home member/ owner and owner alternate, mobile home member/tenant and tenant alternate, and public member.

Multifamily owner/tenant members must be an owner or owner representative or tenant of an apartment complex in the city. Mobile home owner/tenant members must be an owner or owner representative or tenant of a mobile home complex in the city. The public member must be a city resident and not an owner or tenant of a mobile home or multifamily complex.

Commissioners serve for four years and must file a Statement of Economic Interest form. Go to www.fppc.ca.gov for information. Camarillo Ranch Foundation Board of Directors has five open board member positions. The term is three years. The foundation consists of 15 members, five of which may reside outside the city limits.

The board meets on the first Wednesday of the month at 6:30 p.m. The purpose is to provide fundraising and oversight for the operation, maintenance and restoration of the historic building.

Board members must file a Statement of Economic Interest form. Visit www.fppc.ca.gov for information regarding the form.

Citizens Advisory Committee to the Camarillo Redevelopment Project Area has 12 positions open. The term is two years.

The purpose is to advise the Camarillo Community Development Commission and City Council on matters relating to the redevelopment plan and its implementation.

Committee meetings are held on an as-needed basis during evening hours.

Applicants must be residents of the city or own property within the Redevelopment Project Area.

Camarillo Investment Committee has one position available. The term is two years.

Applicants must have experience in accounting, banking or financial investments.

The committee meets on the third Wednesday of each month in the afternoon to review and discuss monthly investment reports, investment strategy, and investment and banking procedures.

Ventura County Citizens Transportation Advisory Committee has one position open. The term expires in June. Applicants must be Camarillo residents.
