Little guys enjoy big-time racing
Mini Dwarf Sprint Cars a hit at Ventura Raceway
      Camarillo resident Tommy Velasquez III is only 9 years old, but he already drives better than Lindsay Lohan. Velasquez is one of many kids ages 5 through 12 that are currently racing Mini Dwarf Sprint Cars in the Ventura Raceway Association (VRA). The league started two years ago and is headed by VRA Director of Kids Competition Mike Sweeney.

Squad has sights set on Pacific View League championship
      This past summer the Rio Mesa High boys' water polo team had a simple motto: Whatever Pacifica High is doing, we need to do more. After finishing in second place last season in the Pacific View League to Pacifica, the Spartans realized a lot of work had to be done to attain the top spot in the standings this year.
