As a parent of a child in the Pleasant Valley School District, I want to voice concern regarding a number of important issues relative to the apparently unavoidable discussion of school closings, particularly concerning the value of Los Senderos Open School. More ... Our family began a wonderful educational experience with Bedford Open School when our daughter, now 13, entered kindergarten nine years ago. We were attracted to this campus by the open school philosophy and the opportunity for our children to be active participants in their education, which we felt the other public schools in Camarillo did not offer. Our criteria were simple, and like most families raising kids, education was critical in our decision. We ended up in Camarillo for that very reason. After talking to all the principals and touring the schools, Los Senderos Open School seemed to fit my son the best. My son is thriving at his school.
