Preschool opens fall registration

The Camarillo United Methodist Church Child Development Center will open a waiting list for new families who wish to register for the center’s fall 2007 session. Families can add their names to the list starting Jan. 3.

The center, established in 1966, announced the following fall registration schedule: church members will register March 5 to 9, returning families from March 12 to 16, waiting

list families from March 20 to 28, and open enrollment will begin March 29. 

The center, at the Camarillo United Methodist Church on Anacapa Drive, has approximately 200 preschoolers enrolled. Students do not have to belong to the church to attend.

The center has been accredited by the National Academy of Early Childhood Programs. The accreditation involves an internal

selfstudy and a professional review to verify compliance with the criteria for high-quality early childhood programs.

The ratio of teachers to children is 1-to-7 for 3-year-olds and 1-to-8 for children age 4 and prekindergarten.
