Camarillo hotel opens its doors for charity event

The Courtyard by Marriott in Camarillo will host the third annual Camarillo “Home for the Holidays” project, in which businesses and residents in the community help families move out of shelters and into independent rental housing. The program also provides access to financial and employment counselors and other personal services.

The families, selected by the Ventura County Human Services Agency, will be guests at the hotel from Fri., Dec. 22 through Sat., Dec. 30. The agency is seeking donations to assist the families during their stays. Financial donations for

“Home for the Holidays” should be made payable to the United Way of Ventura County and are tax deductible. Gift cards, new unwrapped gifts, new clothing and certificates for meals at local restaurants can be dropped off at the United Way office at 1317 Del Norte Road, Ste. 100, in Camarillo, the Courtyard by Marriott on Verdugo Way in Camarillo, the Hilton Garden Inn on Rice Avenue in Oxnard or the Hampton Inn and Suites on Daily Drive in Camarillo.
