Mobile mammography unit approved
Supervisor Long helped shepherd the project

The Ventura County Board of Supervisors approved the Health Care Agency’s addition of a mobile mammography service to the HCA mobile unit.

Supervisor Kathy Long brought the project to the board

along with a contribution of $30,000 from the Ventura County Medical Resource Foundation.

Long, a breast cancer survivor, said “The mobile mammography unit will be a valuable asset to the county in reaching an under

served population of residents who face a number of barriers that prevent them from having a regular mammogram.”

The mobile mammography unit will begin operation in the spring.
