3 teens arrested for grand theft

Sean Webster, 18, and Trevor Stephens, 19, of Camarillo and Rodrigo Ceja, 18, of Somis were arrested early Sunday morning after police were called to the 100 block of Via Olivera by residents who reported seeing the teens acting suspiciously.

All three are being charged with grand theft, police said.

Detective Mario Aguilar with the Camarillo Police Department said that after a quick search of the area deputies caught the teens still carrying stolen electronic items. The three also had hand-held

radios, which Aguilar said were likely used by the teens to warn each other of approaching police cars.

All three were arrested without incident, authorities said.

Aguilar said police searched the homes of the three suspects—all of whom live with their parents—and recovered various stolen property, including a notebook computer, digital cameras and cellphones.

The detective said the parents were not aware of the thefts and are not being considered as suspects.

The teens are accused of stealing a number of items from un

locked vehicles in the Mission Oaks area of Camarillo over several months.

Aguilar said it will take detectives a few days to sort through the stolen property, some of which has not yet been reported to police.

During the past year, officials with the Camarillo Police Department have asked residents to lock their cars at night and to store valuable items out of sight.

Residents who think their valuables may be among the items found should call Aguilar at (805) 388-5119.
