Youth make prayer shawls

The B'Nai Mitzvah class of Temple Ner Ami created their own prayer shawls with the help of Rabbi Michael Lotker, principal Julia Newman, teachers and parents on Saturday. The shawls, or tallit, will be used for the youths' upcoming bar/bat mitzvah next year.

Students selected their own designs, traced the patterns onto their shawls and added appropriate Hebrew words. The class lasted for five hours.
