Armed shoplifter sought by police

Security officers at the Camarillo Target store tried to detain a man suspected of stealing clothing valued at less than $40 at about 1 p.m. Nov. 29. The officers said the man, who pulled out a knife, ran from them and escaped.

According to the officers, he jumped into a light blue Honda that was waiting for him in the parking lot. Another male was driving the car. They left northbound on the 101 Freeway. The officers obtained the license plate information before the men left.

Camarillo detectives are investigating.
