Get in the cockpit of a warplane
Pilots will be on hand to talk about vintage aircraft

The Commemorative Air Force World War II Aviation Museum at Camarillo Airport will present "The Pilot Maker" from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sat., Dec. 9.

Featured will be the comparison of the AT-6/SNJ "Texan" from the World War II era and the T-28 "Trojan" from the postwar era. Both aircraft will be on dis

play. Photos may be taken. Pilots and maintenance crews of the planes will talk about the craft and their experiences, and will answer questions. Demonstration flights will take place at 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

Autographed photos of the SNJ "290" will be available for a $10 donation. Also, those attending can have their photos taken in the cockpit while wearing helmet, goggles and scarf, or in front of the aircraft with the flight crew. Photos will be printed on-site for a $10 donation. A cardboard frame is included.

During the event videos will play in the museum, and tours through the complex will be conducted. Free postcards and posters will be available, as will souvenirs in the gift shop. Refreshments will also be available.
