Light named president of Ventura County Bar group

Jonathan Fraser Light will be the Ventura County Bar Association's president for 2007. Light, a senior partner with the Oxnard-based law firm Nordman Cormany Hair & Compton LLP, was scheduled to be sworn in Nov. 18 at the an

nual Installation and Awards Banquet at the Residence Inn by Marriott in Oxnard.

Light, who has served on the board of the 1,267member organization in different capacities for the past five years, is joined on the 2007 board by vice president Matthew Guasco, secretary/treasurer Anthony Strauss and immediate past president Loye Barton.

Light has more than 25 years of experience in the practice of employment law.

As a senior partner at the firm, he consults with more than 250 companies throughout California on their daytoday employment law needs.

He has successfully defended companies in jury trials involving wrongful termination, sexual harassment, race discrimination and other employment-related matters.

Light is a graduate of the UCLA School of Law.
