Run benefits advocate's group

Court Appointed Special Advocates recently acknowledged the participants who supported the second annual 5K Walk/Run Oct. 14.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the county's courtdependent neglected and abused children.

More than $11,000 was raised. Funds raised from the 5K

Walk/Run will assist in training and coordinating additional volunteers.

With more than 70 children on the waiting list, additional volunteers are needed.

The next CASA training will begin on Feb. 20, 2007.
