Health care workshop tackles Medicare changes

The Camarillo Health Care District will host a workshop covering specific information on changes for Medicare in 2007, from 10 a.m. to noon on Tues., Nov. 21 at the Camarillo Health Care District office, 3639 E. Las Posas Rd, Ste. 117, Camarillo.

The workshop will provide information on Medicare Part A-Hospital Benefit, Medicare Part B-Outpatient Benefit, Medicare Part D-Prescription Drug Benefit and complete guide and details of all Medicare plans, including supplemental plans and new plans that are available with limited Medicare carriers.

Open enrollment for the year of 2007 is through Dec. 31. Plan changes for 2007 can be made during this period.

The workshop will assist Medicare-eligible seniors and disabled beneficiaries in making the choices that best fit their needs for next year.

The program is sponsored by the Ventura County Area Agency on Aging and the Health Insurance Counseling and Advocacy Program.

Community education programs are free of charge to state and county residents. HICAP counselors and community educators are state certified to provide unbiased information.
