Camarillo posts low voter turnout

Westlake Village boasted the highest voter turnout among all local communities in the Nov. 7 election, according to statistics compiled by The Acorn newspapers.

The predominantly Republican city sent 45 percent of its registered voters to the polls.

The turnout across the state and in Los Angeles County was 49 percent, but only 43 percent of the registered voters in Ventura County went to the polls.

The lowest voter turnout among area cities belonged to Camarillo and Simi Valley at 37 percent.
