Free parent workshop

The workshop "Use Your Words: How to Talk to your Preschooler" is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Wed., Nov. 15 in Howald Parlor at the Camarillo United Methodist Church, 291 Anacapa Drive, north of Las Posas road.

The workshop is led by Kathy Gebauer, director of the church's Child Development Center, and is open to the public free of charge. Child care is available for children ages 1 through 5. "We want to make sure what

we are saying to our children is what we mean to say," Gebauer said. According to Gebauer, parents use communication to positively influence their children's self-esteem and to guide behavior. A number of forms of communication with preschoolers will be explored. Questions will be welcome.
