More Taylor supporters During the past year I have had the honor to serve with Bob Taylor as a Camarillo Chamber ambassador and board member of the Pleasant Valley Education Foundation. I have seen Bob's commitment to both his family and to the city of Camarillo.
Through his selfless service, friendly smile and passion
for Camarillo, it is my great privilege to endorse Bob Taylor for City Council.
I first met Bob Taylor at a Chamber of Commerce mixer. Affable and chatty, he was hauling a large ice bucket. Someone told me he was the current president. I met him again, handing out small sandwiches to hungry and tired GATER members at their monthly meeting. He wrapped some up and put them in bags for me and others to take home to our children, while discussing his efforts on the Pleasant Valley Education Foundation Board. Over the summer, I attended the California State University at Channel Islands art fundraiser where I discovered the silent auction item I bid on was donated by one of his family's companies. I met him a fourth time discussing Camarillo's attributes as a guest speaker to the local chapter of the AAUW. Again he surprised me with his generosity. After hearing that eighthgrade girls could be sponsored to attend a science week at a local university, he asked if he could donate as a nonmember. The last time I saw him was at the dedication of the gazebo at the Adolfo Camarillo Ranch House.
Bob Taylor lives in Camarillo, he's a local business
owner, a community activist and, I think, a great guy. The kind of person you
would want as a neighbor and friend. The kind of guy you would like to see
represent you on City Council. I am a fourth generation native of Ventura County. I feel I have a unique view of the issues facing Camarillo. I have seen many improvements in our city, and many areas in our city that need improvement. The city of Camarillo needs a new perspective. This is why I am supporting Bob Taylor for City Council. I grew up in a family that believed in contributing to our community. I became an early member of the Pleasant Valley Education Foundation and there met Bob Taylor. As a parent of two Pleasant Valley School District students, I was pleased to see someone, with a grown son, devoted to the education of our children. My kids are now students at Adolfo Camarillo High School, and he still supports them. I have since grown to understand that Bob's vision of service to his community excludes no one. He doesn't just support my kids; he supports yours as well. Bob will make sure the job gets done. If he can't do it, he'll help you find another source. While planning for the first silent auction for the high school's PTSA, Bob was always there to say "What can I do?" And he did plenty. As current chair of the Camarillo Chamber of Commerce, he is working toward improving the viability of local business. He created the "Buy Cam" initiative encouraging all to support our community by purchasing goods and services locally.
I feel he is the best candidate for the job and the best
hope for the future of the city of Camarillo. Bob Taylor is a valued member of the Rotary Club of Camarillo. He has been actively involved in local Rotary fundraisers since he joined the club in April 2000. He is accessible and readily available to assist in fundraising, youth activities and many leadership positions as committee chairperson. With his "can-do" attitude and smiling face he accomplishes more than most. His approach to life is enviable and breeds confidence among his peers.
We look forward to many more years of service from Bob
Taylor, a local success story! As a parent of a Camarillo High School student and an active member in the Pleasant Valley school system, I feel we need a fresh perspective at city hall. Many issues come before our City Council but few are as important as our kids' education. A strong education system maintains our housing values, attracts business and lowers crime. Bob Taylor believes that schools are not just a state responsibility; they are a local one too. Bob has responded to our kids' needs by donating thousands of dollars yearly and by serving as president of the Pleasant Valley Education Foundation for two terms to raise tens of thousands dollars more. It is time our City Council has such a commitment to our children. Bob Taylor has a vision of Camarillo residents working closely together to support each other. The Buy-Cam campaign he started as chairman of Camarillo's Chamber of Commerce is an example. If our residents made just 10 percent more of their purchases locally, our city would have funds for many desirable improvement projects. Bob would also like to see the different districts of our city work together more proactively.
I have had the pleasure of working with Bob on several
fundraisers. His work ethic is laudable and his commitment to our community is
genuine and tireless. He leads by example, rarely takes credit and inspires
those around him to join in the cause. That's why he gets my vote for City
Council. | |||||
