Camarillo Hospice offers a variety of grief support groups

Camarillo Hospice will offer a pet loss support group on the second Tuesday of the month from noon to 1 p.m. beginning Nov. 14. The group will be facilitated by Sandy Nirenberg, executive director.

Other support groups are offered: general bereavement group meets Mondays at 6:30 p.m., grief support group for young widows and widowers meets Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m., bereaved parents meet Thursdays at 6 p.m. and a young adult grief group for ages 15 through 25 also meets Thursdays at 6 p.m.

A group for those who have lost a loved one through suicide meets on the first and third Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. A support group for adults who have lost a parent is offered on the second and fourth Mondays of each month.

The Good Grief Club, for grieving children between the ages of 6 and 11, meets on Thursdays from 4 to 5:30 p.m.

A bilingual grief support group is offered on Tuesday mornings at the Colonia Senior Center in Oxnard.

All other bereavement groups are at Camarillo Hospice, 400 Rosewood Ave., Ste.102, in Camarillo. The support groups are free of charge to residents of Ventura County.

Camarillo Hospice runs teenage grief groups at Camarillo High School, Rio Mesa High School, Oxnard High School and Pacifica High School throughout the school year. Individual and family grief

counseling for children, teens, and adults is also available free of charge through Camarillo Hospice.
