VC Community Foundation opens technology center The Ventura County Community Foundation christened its new state-of-the-art technology center with a ceremony that honored donors to the new lab plus three long-standing supporters of the VCCF Resource Center for Nonprofit Management, where the lab is located. The purpose of the new technology center, which has 10 workstations with flatscreen computers, is to enhance the technological capacity, efficiency and effectiveness of nonprofit organizations throughout Ventura County. Its courses and seminars, offered at reduced rates, range from hardware operations to the use of basic office software applications. The center received more than $175,000 in annual and multi-year funding from the Amgen Foundation, Edison International and Affinity Bank, among other donors. At the opening ceremony, three long-standing supporters- the WoodClaeyssens Foundation, Affinity Bank, and Sally and Whitten Yount-were also acknowledged. "Each has contributed significantly to our overall success and to the advancement of the resource center," said VCCF president and CEO Hugh Ralston. "On the 15th anniversary of the resource center, we gratefully acknowledge their generosity and support." The Ventura County Community Foundation is a family of charitable funds whose combined assets now exceed $90 million. The Foundation's mission is to promote and enable philanthropy and to build long-term capital to benefit Ventura County. For more information, visit www.vccf.org . |
