Variety of events planned

+Sat., Oct. 14, 4 to 8 p.m. Pleasant Valley Historical Society Annual Harvest Festival. Old-time fiddlers, Wild West show, silent auction, food and no host bar. $45 per person. Thiessen Family Barn, 4822 Donlon Road, Somis. Reservations required: (805) 482-2580.

+Sat., Oct. 14, 1 to 4 p.m. Guided tours of St. John's Seminary including the Edward Lawrence Doheny Memorial Library, chapel and gardens. Special exhibits. Free; no reservations necessary. School built in 1939 on land donated by Juan Camarillo. 5012 Seminary Road, Camarillo.

+Sun., Oct. 15, noon to 2 p.m. St. Mary Magdalen Chapel open for free tours. Built by Juan Camarillo in 1917 in honor of his parents and named for his sister, Magdalen. 2532 E. Ventura Blvd., Camarillo.

+Sun., Oct. 15, 1 to 3 p.m. Camarillo Evangelical Free Church open for free tours. Site of former Pleasant Valley Baptist Church organized in June 1869. Present building was built in 1930. 2315 Ventura Blvd., Camarillo.

+Commemorative Air Force Museum, 455 Aviation Drive, Camarillo. World War II planes on display. Two displays of historical photos of original air strip and airplanes.

Free airplane posters and airplane pencil sharpeners.
