Hospital names new chief nurse

Karen Price-Gharzeddine, RN, is the new chief nursing executive of St. John's Pleasant Valley Hospital.

She will report to St. John's Pleasant Valley Hospital President Jerry Conway and supervises a nursing staff of more than 400 employees. She is also responsible for overseeing the delivery of patient care to enhance nursing outcomes and positive patient experiences.

Price-Gharzeddine comes to St. John's from Centinela Freeman HealthSystem in Marina Del Rey.

As chief nursing officer, she was responsible for numerous key services, including medical/surgical, telemetry, orthopedics, critical care, education, patient satisfaction, environmental services, dietary, emergency, perioperative services, pharmacy, infection control and central supply. Price-Gharzeddine has a

master's degree in nursing administration from California State University, and is an adjunct professor at the University of Phoenix.
