Another grapefruit was tossed at a vehicle in the 5400 block of Quailridge Drive that day, causing $400 in damage, and vandals also damaged property at a home on the same block.

A burglar attempted to break into Mills Jewelers of Camarillo at 2171 E. Ventura Blvd. on Sept. 24. A window was broken in the back of the jewelry shop and a hole was
cut in the store's rear door, but the intruder was unable to cut open a steel security gate.
Thieves shattered the front window of the T-Mobile cellphone store at 415 W. Ventura Blvd. and stole more than $12,000 in merchandise from a locked "cage" in the rear of the store. The theft took place a little before 10 p.m. Sept. 24.
