Runners on mark for Lions' run

The Camarillo-Somis Pleasant Valley Lions Club will host the seventh annual 5K Lion Run and 1K Cub Run at the Camarillo Ranch, 201 Camarillo Ranch Road on Sun., Sept. 24. The event is for both runners and walkers. Proceeds will benefit local Lions charities.

The 5K run will begin at 8 a.m. with the Cub Run starting at 8:45 a.m. The flat, fast 5K course is certified by the U.S. Track and Field Association.

The 1K Cub Run is for ages up to 12 years. Parents may run or walk with their children.

All race participants will receive an event T-shirt and a goody bag. All children in the Cub Run will also receive a commemorative medal.

Participants may sign up at 7 a.m. on Sunday. Both races cost $20 to enter.
