Sew good, working together

TWO GUILDS, ONE BEE-Simi Valley and Conejo Valley quilter guild members came together for an old-fashioned quilting bee at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library. Fabric squares decorated on the Fourth of July by visiting children were sewn together to form the large quilts that will be displayed in the Air Force One Pavilion. Finishing one of the quilts are, from left, Newbury Park resident Jessica Lamar, Thousand Oaks resident Betsy Martyniuk, Camarillo resident Marcelle Buttitta, Thousand Oaks resident Peggy Eichorn and Camarillo resident Ellen Rankin.
