LDS youth volunteer for two-year mission

Have you ever wondered who those guys are in the white shirts and ties, and why they knock on your door in the heat of the summer?

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has more that 50,000 missionaries serving throughout the world. These missionaries are young men and women that dedicate two years of their lives to share a unique message about the restoration of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Russell Wilson, 20, of Elkridge, Utah and Jeremiah Astin, 20, of Dayton, Ohio are currently some of the full-time missionaries serving in Camarillo. These two young men have put their home lives on hold as they serve two years in

parts of Southern California, sharing this message and serving others, all without pay.

"As full-time missionaries, we share that after many centuries of being lost, the fullness of the gospel of Jesus Christ has been restored through a prophet of God and the Church of Jesus Christ has been restored with the same organization that existed when Jesus Christ established his Church on the earth," said Wilson.

Church services are at 9 and 11 a.m. and at 1 p.m. Sundays at 1201 Paseo Camarillo (next to city hall). All are invited to attend.

For more information or to contact the missionaries, call the mission office at (805) 644-1034 or visit www.mormon.org.
