Insurance fraud investigators nab 3

Camarillo residents Vicente Arzate, 39 and Luis Enrique Rodriquez, 41, were arrested on Aug. 9 and charged with felony conspiracy to commit insurance fraud. Arzate was also charged with grand theft and possession of a vehicle with an altered vehicle

dentification number.

Maria Monica Gonzales Armendariz, 31, of Oxnard, was also arrested and, along with Rodriquez, charged with various counts of insurance fraud.

Rodriquez is accused of falsely reporting the theft of his 2003 Chevy Silverado truck to the Oxnard Police Department. He and Armendariz later allegedly filed a false insurance claim with their insurance company, Republic Insurance, which paid $11,960 on the claim.

Rodriquez and Armendariz had also allegedly reported to the company false information regarding their marital status in order to receive discounted insurance premiums on their insurance policy.

If convicted, the accused conspirators could face possible prison sentences of between five years, eight months and seven years.

The arrests were the culmination of a two-year investigation by the district attorney's office, Los Angeles County and Republic Insurance.
