Seminar helps parents teach value of dollar

Matthew Jones, Edward Jones investment representative in Camarillo, will host an educational seminar, "How to Raise a MoneySmart Child," at 8:30 a.m., 3:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. Tues., Sept. 12 at 3661 Las Posas Road, Ste. 171G, Camarillo.

The seminar is a collaboration between Edward Jones and the Money Savvy Generation, an organization devoted to children's financial literacy. The program features the Money Savvy Pig Piggy Bank with chambers, one each for saving, investing, donating and spending.

"As business leaders, we share the collective responsibility to help our youth avoid the pitfalls that financial illiteracy brings," said Jones. "We want to help parents and grandparents teach children the skills of basic personal finance so they are empowered to take control of their financial lives and, in turn, their futures."

The seminar is free, but space is limited. For more information or to make a reservation, call Jones at (805) 388-9918.

Edward Jones provides investment advice and financial services for individual investors in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom.
