After seven consecutive seasons with a losing record, Camarillo High decided to look for another coach to help guide its boys' soccer team in a winning direction. The school didn't have to look far. After leading the ACHS girls' team to an 18-2 record last year, Jesus Duran was asked to take over as head coach for the boys' squad. More ... TAKEDOWN- Left, Rio Mesa's Paul Venegas, on top, appears to have Thousand Oaks' Ben Guido wrapped up during the 103-pound final during last weekend's Newbury Park Wrestling Tournament. Guido, however, came back to win the match. Right, Benjamin Gomez, on top, of RMHS gains the advantage on Chatsworth's Thomas Cottrell in the 130-pound final. Cottrell rebounded to win the weight division title. More ... For Paul Vargo, it doesn't get any sweeter than this. The hard work, the dedication, it all paid off during last week's intramural dodgeball championship at the Soiland Recreation Center on the campus of California Lutheran University.
