Camarillo man charged in stabbing
Joseph Dwyer, 62, of Camarillo was found guilty of voluntary manslaughter with
he use of a knife in the stabbing death of Debbie Wood, 26. A friend found Wood's body in Dwyer's Camarillo apartment on June 13.
Wood's body had been inside the apartment for five days, a knife embedded in her back.
Wood was employed at Casa Pacifica working with abused children. She had a degree in psychology and had formerly been employed as a dancer at the Oxnard Spearmint Rhino, where she met Dwyer.
Sentencing is scheduled for Oct. 23. Dwyer faces a sentence of up to 12 years in state prison.
